Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information ReadyHome collects when you visit readyhomekit.com or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have. ReadyHome is responsible for your personal information as its controller. For any question or request, email hello@readyhomekit.com.

What we collect

  • When you order: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and billing address, the pack you choose, and your answer to "Where did you hear about us?". If your browser kept a note of the website, advert or QR code that brought you to us, that note is added to your order (see our cookies page).
  • Payment details: your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment provider. ReadyHome never sees or stores them.
  • When you contact us: your name, email address and whatever you tell us.
  • When you visit our website: we count visits by day, page, rough location (the town your connection appears to be in) and the website or advert you came from. We don't use cookies for this, don't store your IP address and can't tell who you are from these counts. Like any website, our hosting provider handles technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and keep the site secure.
  • When you scan the QR code on our flyer: the time of the scan and its rough location (town).
  • If you accept cookies: the Meta Pixel tells Meta when you visit, start a checkout or buy. See our cookies page.

How we use it, and why we're allowed to

  • To take, pack, deliver and look after your order, including your order confirmation, dispatch and tracking emails, and cancellations and refunds. We need this information to fulfil our contract with you.
  • To take payment, prevent fraud and keep our website secure. This is needed for our contract with you and is in our legitimate interests.
  • To keep accounting and tax records, which the law requires.
  • To answer your messages, in our legitimate interest in helping you.
  • To understand which websites, adverts and flyers bring visitors and sales, so we can spend sensibly and improve our website. This is in our legitimate interests. We use counts and the source of each order for this, not profiles of people.
  • To measure our adverts on Facebook and Instagram, only if you accept cookies. You can change your mind at any time on our cookies page.

We only email you about your order and in reply to your messages. We won't send you marketing emails without your permission, and we never sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with companies that help us run ReadyHome, and only what each one needs. They act on our instructions and must keep it secure.

  • Stripe: checkout and payments.
  • Cloudflare: website hosting and security, our order and visit records, and delivering email sent to our addresses.
  • Resend: sending order emails.
  • Google: the email service our team uses to read and answer your messages.
  • Slack: messages that tell our team about new orders.
  • Delivery companies: your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order.
  • Meta: only if you accept cookies.
  • Ahrefs: cookie-free visit statistics.

We may also share information with our professional advisers (such as accountants), with authorities where the law requires it, and with a buyer if the ReadyHome business is ever sold, who would then use it in line with this policy.

Information sent outside the UK

Some of these providers handle information outside the UK, for example in the United States. When they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or by contract terms approved for UK data, so your information keeps the same protection.

How long we keep it

  • Orders: six years after the end of the financial year of your order, because tax law requires it. Then we delete them.
  • Messages: as long as we need them to help you and deal with any follow-up.
  • Visit counts: these contain no personal information.
  • In your browser: the note of where you came from is kept for 30 days and your cookie choice for 6 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • correct anything that's wrong or incomplete
  • delete your information, where we don't need to keep it
  • restrict how we use it, or stop using it where we rely on our legitimate interests
  • send your information to you or another organisation in a common format

Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@readyhomekit.com. It's free, and we'll reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it safe

Our website uses encrypted connections. Order information is only available to the people at ReadyHome who need it, behind a secure sign-in.

Children

You must be 18 or over to buy from ReadyHome. We don't knowingly collect information about children.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if anything changes and show the new date at the top.
