These terms apply when you buy from ReadyHome at readyhomekit.com. Please read them before you order. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer. If you have a question, email hello@readyhomekit.com.
1. About ReadyHome
ReadyHome chooses, sources and packs household emergency kits. We don't manufacture the products in our kits: each item comes with its maker's instructions and any guarantee its maker gives.
ReadyHome is a private company. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of HM Government or any public body. Our kits follow the public household guidance at prepare.campaign.gov.uk.
2. Our kits
- We describe what's in each pack on our website. Pictures are for illustration, and an item's brand, colour or packaging may differ from the picture. If we have to swap an item, we'll use one that does the same job at least as well.
- No pack includes bottled water. Complete and Family include a water purification filter; Essential does not include water purification. Keep your own supply of sealed bottled water, as the government advises.
- Packs don't include baby supplies such as nappies or formula.
- Read and follow the instructions that come with each item, and keep them with your kit.
- A kit helps you prepare. It can't guarantee anyone's safety. In a life-threatening emergency always call 999.
3. Ordering
- You must be 18 or over to order, and we deliver to UK addresses only.
- You order on our website and pay through Stripe's secure checkout.
- Once your payment goes through, we email you an order confirmation. Our contract with you starts then.
- We may have to cancel an order, for example if an item becomes unavailable, there's an obvious mistake in the price or description, or we suspect fraud. If so, we'll tell you and refund you in full.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices are in pounds sterling, include VAT where it applies and are shown on our website and at checkout. Delivery within the UK is free.
- If we spot an obvious pricing mistake after you order, we'll contact you before we send anything, so you can go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
- We take payment when you order. Card payments are handled by Stripe; ReadyHome never sees your card details.
5. Delivery
- We pack every order to order. Orders are usually dispatched within 3 to 5 working days, and we email you a tracking link when it's on its way.
- Delivery times are estimates. If we don't deliver within 30 days of your order, or by a date we've agreed with you, you can cancel for a full refund.
- Your order becomes yours, and your responsibility, once it's delivered.
- If anything arrives damaged or missing, please tell us as soon as you can, ideally with a photo, so we can put it right quickly.
6. Changing your mind
- Before we send your order: email us and we'll cancel it and refund you in full.
- After it arrives: you have 14 days from the day you receive your order to tell us you want to cancel all or part of it. You don't need to give a reason. Email hello@readyhomekit.com with your order number, then send the items back within 14 days of telling us.
- Please return items unused, with their original packaging if you can. You pay for return postage unless the item is faulty or we sent you the wrong thing.
- We'll refund what you paid, to your original payment method, within 14 days of getting the items back or receiving proof that you've sent them. We may take something off the refund if an item has been handled more than you'd need to look at it in a shop.
- Sealed items that can't be returned for health or hygiene reasons, such as sealed food, can only be returned unopened.
7. If something is faulty
By law, what we sell must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn't:
- within 30 days of delivery, you can reject it and get a full refund
- after 30 days, you can ask for a repair or replacement, and if that doesn't work or isn't possible, a refund
Email us first and we'll arrange the return and cover its reasonable cost. These are your legal rights, and nothing in these terms limits them. For more on your rights, contact Citizens Advice.
8. Our responsibility to you
- If we break these terms or don't take reasonable care, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was a foreseeable result. We're not responsible for loss that couldn't have been foreseen.
- We don't exclude or limit our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for your legal rights in relation to the products, or for defective products.
- We sell our kits for household use. We're not responsible to business buyers for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
- If something outside our control delays your order, we'll tell you as soon as we can. If the delay is likely to be long, you can cancel for a full refund.
